Located in the heart of a dense urban area, the end customer’s former site had become too small and did not allow for any extensions. A new, much larger outlet was built on a new site a few hundred meters from the historical site. This new supermarket is now better able to meet the expectations of the retail customers and offers parking facilities with a focus on green spaces, the creation of an adjacent shopping mall and a Columbus café.

This photovoltaic installation aims to serve the environmental policy of the end customer. It is thus deployed around several axes:

Optimization of the lighting
Reduction of the consumption of cold furniture
Choice of refrigerants
Parking spaces with charging stations
Sorting and recycling of packaging waste
Self-generation of part of its electrical consumption from the sun

This last point is important because energy represents a very important cost item in food retailing. The self-production of part of the building’s electricity consumption has been one of the strategic objectives of the supermarket’s owner for several years. The photovoltaic generator develops a power of 300 kWp on a surface of 1800 m². The production of the 940 panels covers an average of 25% of the building’s daytime electricity needs.

We have had the pleasure of working with Dome Solar for about ten years. The proposed solutions are very relevant and adapted to the specificities of the different types of roofs, but also to the constraints encountered during the construction phase. Here, the Roof-Solar Bitumen system was able to seduce us thanks to the ease with which the grounding was carried out, and thanks to a very good control of the final alignment of the panels. Moreover, at Dome Solar, the technical solutions evolve when necessary, taking into account the feedback that we can provide. We appreciate the quality of our exchanges and the responsiveness of our contacts. Lastly, fasteners have been standardized between different systems, saving time in the preparation and execution of projects. As a Designer-Installer, we test and select each of the materials that we will then install for our customers, which is why we need to work with reliable and dynamic partners like Dome Solar.

The Roof-Solar Bitumen fixing system

It allows the solar panels to be installed in such a way as to bypass the skylights that are often present on flat roofs.

Practicality

From one range to another, the systems are quite similar (e.g.: between the Roof-Solar Bitumen and Ital-Solar, you can easily go from a sloping roof to a flat one), so the team already had a mastery of the mounting system (= a saving of time and practicality during the preparation of the site and the installation).
